Madeleine Putnam
I’m a ceramic artist from San Francisco. I work in a drop-in space in the Tenderloin, where we provide free access to art supplies and education. I have a deep connection with the artist community in this neighborhood. I attended school in New York and earned a BFA in sculpture at Hunter College. My work is concerned with community intimacy, societal detritus, and the commodification of identity. I incorporate found materials into my ceramic, textile, and mixed media sculpture. Since High School, I have also enjoyed drawing and making zines to share my work and connect with the community.
